This activity can be designed for a special day in the high school. The students design the project of the show.

Departments involved:

  • Arts: to design the make-up and prepare the stage set.
  • Technology: to prepare some of materials we can use
  • Spanish/English: to prepare the introduction of every show and they can prepare some of shows Poems.
  • Music: to prepare/play the music (at least a song)
  • Physical Education: to prepare the acrobats show, juggles, dancers, humor sketches (Body language) Everyone has to participate.



We will work in a separately way but with a common target. We can find some help in ours partners of other subjects if we sell them our project. We can have a whatsapp group to communicate all the teachers involved in the project. If it is necessary we can organize some meetings in some breaks but initially it is not necessary after define the general performance.

The event can be organized for the cultural week.

EVENT:

  • SETTING: Organized by  Deparment of art which can:

Ø  Name of the circus, differents shows (juggles, acrobats etc), making all the pictures. Even they can design an draw some make-up/ dress for the performance.

 SPECIAL EFFECTS: Organized by  Department of Technology which can:

Ø  Design the digital effects of some performances, light, sounds, power-points to introduce some performance....

Ø  Make some materials for the performance




  • SCRIPT:  by  Departments of Language and English which can:
Ø  Design the speech of the presenters in English and in Spanish and rehearse them.

  • SOUND TRACK: Organized by  Department of Music:
Ø  Prepare and play at least a song during the event.

  • PERFORMANCES: Organized by  Department of P.E:
Ø  Prepare different performances:
o   Juggles, 1º-2º ESO
o   Jump rope: 1-2º ESO
o   Acrobats: (Acrobatic gymnastics): 3-4 ESO
o   Dance: 3-4º ESO
o   Humor sketches: 1º Bach.

Every performance should last more than 4-5 minutes. Some of them could last 20-30 seconds (especially humour sketches).

in PHYSICAL EDUCATION:

JUGGLES: In a juggling unit learners can learn basic movements and you can try with some of your students to choose a performance (all doing 3 balls at the same time, running changing positions, dancing...etc). You can see an example in the video (minute 1:07) 

 JUMP ROPE: Individually or all the pupils at the same time. You can propose a choreography with individual  jumps (all at the same time) and after a group exercise of jump rope. 


ACROBATS: In acrobatic gymnastics (acrosport) you can spend 2-3 classes with a performance made for your students or you can design exercises for pairs work and the pupils perform it all at the same time.

DANCE:
We can practice a choreography with a whole class and do it for the performance or design different choreographies for every class.
